We had a free day to spend in St. John’s but our Tour Director organized an excursion for us! We left at 10:30 and drove out of St. John’s, for an hour, to the picturesque town of Brigus. It was foggy along the way but it burned off and the sun came out just as we arrived. We had two hours to grab lunch and explore the town on our own. It was a photographer‘s dream come true!! It was another quaint seaside town with charming harbours and gorgeous colourful houses. We found the tunnel that was bored through the rock in 1860 to allow easier access to the water below. Some of us had the opportunity to meet Albert, an 82 year old born and raised in Brigus. He was a sweet man that was anxious to chat with anyone that would listen. We had another delicious meal at a charming local restaurant, always great food and service. Then we drove about 10 miles up the road to another little seaside town called Cupids.
