We Made It!

 Well, we actually did it!  We dragged our tired bodies to the airport at 3:15 am to check in for our 5:00 flight! 🥱.  Aside from a slower process going through security, all went well.  The worst calamity of the day was that Tim Horton’s didn’t open at 4 am like it promised on the website! 🤷‍♀️  We had a great flight to Toronto and had enough time to get to our next gate, use the washroom, grab a Timmies and get on the next plane.  

We arrived into Halifax about 30 minutes late but everything else went smoothly.  We just had to show our proof of vaccination as we left the baggage area and our TD, Warwick, was there to greet us!!  We were whisked away on a lovely bus, complete with plastic shields between the rows, and arrived at our centrally located hotel 30 minutes later.

There wasn’t anything scheduled for the remainder of the day since other travellers continued to arrive into the evening.  We decided to just split into smaller groups to venture out for dinner.  Some people opted to eat at the hotel restaurant while others headed out towards the waterfront to find a place for dinner.  Ten of us ate a “Salty’s”, a waterfront seafood restaurant.

When we returned to the hotel there was a musician playing guitar and singing.  He had a lovely voice and was very pleasant to listen to.  Unfortunately, his audience was small and short lived because we were all very tired!!! So, it was an early night tonight, in preparation for a busy day tomorrow!
